  I think its really funny how that controller did everything right and then just went home. thats the work life balance everyone should strife for.

  Engineer here. OMG, it&apos;s almost as if this video was tailor made for me. Also: I have seen this incident on many other channels, but they always just say &quot;and a generator tripped off&quot;. This is the only channel that digs DEEP into the details, allowing engineers of all fields to learn lessons for systems and UX/UI design.

  As a teenager, I was on a plane during an extreme turbulence event (the kind where people fly out of their seats and bounce around like ping pong balls). &nbsp;Ever since then I&apos;ve been terrified of flying. &nbsp;My motto for 45+ years since then is &quot;if I can&apos;t drive there, I don&apos;t go there.&quot; &nbsp;Watching your videos has actually helped me immensely, to the point that I flew for the first time again last November and am excited to be taking another flight next month. &nbsp;Thank you for your detailed explanations of not only what happened, but what was done to try to keep it from happening again.

  To switch over a failed VHF radio, it requires power to do so. But the failure is caused by loss of power... The irony of that

  One thing - after reading the final report, I saw there is a reference to the Captain briefing the senior cabin crew member. So, the pilots got that right too. They did an amazing job.

  Damn, when Peter says &quot;we will never know for sure&quot; about some actions the pilots took, I assume that the aircraft later met the worst fate. Was a relief to know everybody was okay

  Just my two cents. I&apos;m not a massive fan of the recent thumbnails. A &quot;shocked&quot; and/or &quot;surprised look&quot; in the thumbnail just makes it feel like the video is meant for dramatic entertainment rather than a serious story telling of information.

  It&apos;s always refreshing when all the humans involved make the right choices. It could be argued the maintenance crew should have rejected the control unit. But the pilots made no errors, the ATC members made no errors, fire crews were ready. FO barely gets mentioned in the video, because he just flew the plane flawlessly in what had to be a extremely stressful scenario. They didn&apos;t panic when the gear didn&apos;t deploy and used the backup method. It would be a pleasure to take a flight with either one of those pilots in control.
