Having practiced some classical trumpet, I have no idea how anyone can coax such a tender lovely sound out of a double reed historical oboe. Emma is truly an artist of the highest order.

This made me cry. I've come back to Bach and Baroque music after decades away, and I continue to be devastated (both emotionally and sonically) by his music. Such a beautiful performance.

Sublime music. If mankind never produced anything else of worth or beauty, the music of Bach alone would be sufficient justification for our existence.

The siciliano is so sad. After only a few bars you can feel your heart being almost literally gripped and clutched. The music immediately takes me to Bach's Golgotha.

Bach was God’s instrument. Bach understood this. He wrote “S.D.G” (Glory to God alone) at the end of his compositions as a testament to his faith and dedication to God's glory.

Every time I listen to a Bach concerto (admittedly, very infrequently) I have to smile at the bouncy harpsichord just happily doing its thing underneath all the more featured instruments. My mind has made in inextricable connection between the harpsichord and Bach, for whatever reason.

LOVE the sound of the historical Oboe. It's like a completely different instrument. I know they have their limitations, but what a sound! Just lovely.
