  I started watching your videos after I was in a bad car accident when I was hit by a drunk driver, at that point I had pretty much given up on life. After the accident I couldn’t walk and lost all hope, had gotten divorced while I was still in the rehab hospital. I was turn onto your amazing bonsai channel and became hooked I would watch each episode over and over. I was hoping to come see you once I was better, though 3 years of many many surgeries and procedures and rehab I am finally able to walk around again. But the hardest part was mental health issues that I had developed from the accident it will be a life long struggle to recover from them but your kindness comes through the screen and heals the world that watch you. You are like the uncle who cares for you but telling you the truth about the world and you don’t hide the truth about bonsai and I have been trying hard to get bonsai and develop them from trees I can find around here, weather it’s a nursery tree or collect one the steps are often scary to cut and shape. So I have been hesitant to cut and shape the trees. Because of my inexperience I have lost many trees and have been heart broken and even more scared of go forward. But your advice and encouragement are very helpful and appreciated especially for those of us who are struggling with the green thumb. I am hopeful that next spring I will be able and come and do a 1 to 1 with Peter in an effort to get over the hurdles of growing bonsai with out teachers. Thank you for your support and encouragement and kindness for all over us especially those who are new to the community<br><br>My best wishes to you Peter

  This video is exactly what I asked for on the last video, the two shows the complete process for field grown bonsai. It was great to learn about how best to extract and prepare healthy trees, thank you so much for all that you do for us Peter.

  I collect many trees from the woods. My wife bought a spade with teeth on the tip that cuts roots very well. Rocky soil. &nbsp;If only I had an assistant that would dig with his hands like that!-)😂 &nbsp;The woods here are decorated with pale marcescent leaves of Fagus grandifolia in the winter.
