πŸ”— Most Seniors overpay without knowing it. Social Security rules nobody explains, Tax-breaks they never filed, bills they could've cut years ago. It took me 19 years after getting out to get a big whooping 10% for my leg and back. After a total of 32 years I'm finally at 80%. I should be 100% P&T

Veterans shouldn’t have to stumble across their hard-earned benefits by accident. When eligible programs, presumptive conditions, and filing options are buried in a confusing system, people miss out on support they deserve. Take a close look at your records, see what you might qualify for, and take action, never assume you're already getting everything you've earned.

After dealing with the VA for about 20 yrs. I threw in the towel. My biggest stressors was dealing with the VA. They haven't called me for an annual check up for several years now. The run around wasn't worth the stress of dealing with it. The things I seen in that 20 yrs. was unbelievable. The VSO's from American legion, DAV, VFW were not helpful. One even told me I didn't have combat medals I needed to verify my claim. Good luck to any vet that is dealing with the VA or VSO's.

Thanks for posting this video Lana. Since I have no service connected disabilities (yet), I do not think any of those ideas will help me since I am a 63 year old retired single non-combat vet who served from 1982 - 1990. I already have a 30 year VA home home loan with a ~ 3.25% mortgage rate on a 96 year old house that I will be paying for up until my late 80's if I live that long. The only possibility I see is if I could get a 10% disability rating for exposure to asbestos since my occupation for the Army was as a Tank mechanic because my job included wheeled vehicle repair which included replacing brake shoes that almost certainly had asbestos brake linings and its associated dust. I was also a cigarette smoker back then. I quit smoking 15 years ago, yet came down with lung cancer almost a year ago anyway. I am already using the VA hospital system for my treatments, but getting a 10% disability rating would open up more doors to a few of the other things you had mentioned. How likely is it that I would succeed in reaching 10% or more?

I had VGLI after separating from the military, but they stopped payment after I came back from Iraq. Nobody said anything and we didn’t notice that for years. When I looked into it again, it was super expensive to restart it. I had to rely on the new VA life insurance. Now my wife went from a $400,000 policy to a $40,000 policy because of that.

I got to call BS on this poster, they talk about the USA VA and Social Security yet they show foreign money not USA money. Huge Red Flag.

VSO's are worth exactly what you pay for them, in my experience.
