Don't give up guys. I've been suffering from severe dysbiosis for almost 2 decades and finally started healing with right approach. My diet was extremely restricted for years because I couldn't tolerate almost anything. I started SLOWLY introduce new foods one at a time. For example a year ago I started to eat chickpeas and beginning was difficult as I was reacting badly and got so much gas. But after a couple of months I started tolerating it just fine. It's a slow process but don't give up. It takes time for your microbiome to adjust.

In 2012, I went from the standard american diet to a whole food plant based diet overnight. For three weeks I had horrible abdominal pain that I didn’t understand. I knew I was doing the right thing by eating healthy and couldn’t understand why my gut was seemingly rejecting it. Finally, I googled it and found no articles at the time but saw someone talk about it in a online forum and said it can take up to four weeks for the gut to adjust. By the end of the third week, like overnight, the pain was gone. I probably did it the hard way by not slowly changing my diet but I got there. The gut is amazing in its ability to adapt.

Great info. Also find the music distracting though. Your info is awesome and doesn’t need music for entertainment in my humble opinion. Many thanks for sharing.

Another reason can be, fermentation is happening in wrong place, (SIBO or Stomach overgrowth).

Love your content. The background music is distracting. Your voice is enough - please just use music in the transitions 💜

I was scared of fiber, also scared of beans/lentils because my daughter has crohns disease so we avoided it as much as we could. But i just finished your latest book and it reassured me not to be afraid. I have already slowly upped our fiber over the past week and so far so good. Thank you!

I may have gotten a little too enthusiastic when I started reading fiber fuled 😅 Everyone please listen to the low and slow message. If you flip your diet upside down and triple fiber in 2-3 days expect some temporary crazy digestion issues

I agree I recall while eating fermented foods like Sauerkraut and kefir despite my SIBO..after months I was fermenting less and able to tolerate foods better.

    1. Fix constipation (if stool isn't moving then no where for gas to go)
2. Start low and go slow (start with small amounts of fiber increasing every day)
3. Low FOD map diet (symptom control to calm the gut and reintroduce, 1 step back 2 steps forward)
4. Build gentle plant diversity (repetiton builds tolerance, managing fiber to benefiting from it)
