  End of an era on BNSF. They will be missed. The good news, however, is that one SD70MAC is preserved, that being BN 9400, which is at the Illinois Railway Museum and is planned to be restored back to its executive livery.

  That's amazing.....I remember when they got delivered when dad worked on BN. It's amazing to me that more SD40-2s and C30-7s still running

  I hope this isn’t really the end for them as I’ve wanted to capture them for a while just not sure where. But if this really is the end for them, I just want to say thank you for covering these diesels and any others that have been sent off to scrap over the past 5-10 years.

  I was at Alliance as a machinist when the SD70Macs were brand new , I did the acceptance inspection on 9400 the first one we received , BN and EMD tortured these locomotive&apos;s on Crawford Hill with mile long loaded coal trains , stopping, starting , rolling back and starting and everything else they could think of , lots of broken knuckles and draw bars ripped out .
