  Bethesda wanted the &quot;Yes-Man&quot; from New Vegas again so players always have a way to complete the game even if they piss off every faction. Yes-Man worked because he was, by self admission, a lobotomized robot that had to do what you said even if it didn&apos;t make sense. It really does not work when you apply &quot;lobotomized robot&quot; to a person.

  Preston has this faint trace of a character trait in that he hates the people who betrayed the minutemen&apos;s values and then you can betray the Minutemen and invade the Commonwealth with raider gangs and he responds by just following your orders while frowning.

  He doesn&apos;t have a bad voice actor, you can tell because Bethesda actually lets him act at the treasure of Jamaica plain. Like just that ONE time he shows a lot of emotion. I feel like they gave him no direction and would just accept every first line read from him. Or told him he doesn&apos;t sound depressed enough.

  Him talking about how the Quincy massacre happened and there not being any kind of follow up for that is insane that there wasn&apos;t a take back Quincy quest like the castle turning it back into a major settlement.
