  The part I liked most was seeing how one small clue led you to the actual problem. That&apos;s the kind of troubleshooting you don&apos;t really get from edited highlight videos.

  The HVAC GUY says that the caps they require you to use at install are known to fail. He also says you can change them later with a different type that’s better i guess but he switches them out. He also always replaces the schrader valves so they dont leak on his calls. Great work!

  Have seen this many times Justin. Funny but back before they invented the Schrader core tool in the 1990&apos;s I think, when we had a Schrader core valve leaking you had 3 options and I am talking about 1970&apos;s thru early/mid 1980&apos;s before recovery machines you could blow the charge change the core or use either the 1/4 brass flare cap or what I used was a 1/4 flare nut with copper bonnet! Or if you needed a port add a 1/4x1/4x1/4 tee with Schrader&apos;s. Too many tech would torque the brass flare caps so much on a leaky Schrader it would destroy the ability to ever remove the leaky Schrader smashing the brass opening down where the Schrader core could not be removed without drilling the smashed opening out so that is why I used the flare nut with copper bonnet! <br>Anyway I saw back then many techs would tighten the regular brass caps so tight it would crack the crown of the flat style brass caps and I could tell as hard as you had to crank on that plastic on the tech before you knew the Schrader was leaking and over torqued it thinking it would stop! Over torquing Joe was there!<br><br>I would pick up a dozen 1/4 flare nuts with the copper bonnet inserts because there are many units that can have Schrader core valves leaking with no way in hell to get the long Schrader core tool on it to change it so that bonnet will save your butt if in a pinch on a late or weekend call!<br><br>The techs today just don&apos;t know how tough we old farts had it back before all the cool tech tools and computers, internet, GPS, cell phones, etc.! I still have a lot of old tech tools but only used the newer ones because damn, the old way sucked!<br><br>Spot on about the shortage and 40 to 50 years ago they were smart enough to have a couple of apprentices that were wanting to learn the trade and willing to go to HVACR school ride along as helpers with the more seasoned techs fully understanding that their company would always have the proper labor resources. Now they just want a one man truck and hire 10 year experienced tech because the bean counter says that is more profitable.<br><br>Just an FYI Justin as long as I have been doing stuff in this industry I still have those moments &quot; I have never seen that 💩before&quot;!
