Chronic inflammation has a root cause, glycine deficiency. You make 2 grams glycine endogenously, you need ten or more, depending on how much protein you eat. Each excess methionine molecule uses 2 molecules of glycine to prevent accumulation of homocysteine. Additionally, glycine regulates macrophage response to injury, which should NOT be inflammatory. At injury without sufficient glycine, macrophages react by default as if infection were present, causing inflammation. I refer you to the work of Dr Joel Brind.

I've been exhausted and having crashes every afternoon, for the past three years. Sudden onset every day about 2pm of fatigue, brain fog, and intense depression. From 2pm-6pm daily I'm out of commission. I presume there's some aspect of long COVID because that's when symptoms started. I got a sleep study and a CPAP to see if it would help. It did not (though it helped with executive function and asthma.) I've had blood work done. Nothing showed up there. No doctors seem to know what's wrong with me, and they aren't very curious.

That's how I arrived here, after a very hard week, because I've been functioning very poorly. I'm always tired, and my body hurts. For the first time I'm feeling some hope that I can at least minimize the effects of whatever is happening to me. My diet is atrocious so I will be starting there. It got worse because I was trying to compensate for the fatigue symptoms through sugar, caffeine, and I'm too tired to cook, etc, but I didn't see this as a vicious cycle until just now.

Thank you for your comprehensive video.

I healed my autoimmune 3 years ago with an anti-inflammatory diet, supplementation and adopting a low stress lifestyle. Took 2 months for all syptoms to go away. I learned how from watching Functional Doctors on YouTube.

I love these functional medicine perspectives and this is info I've been aware of for some time. Wha really burns me is the fact that unless I want to pay $400 a session, FM doctors are not covered by my insurance and being stuck in the limitations of testing that is limited is so frustrating.

ADD more color to ur plate
5 R's to start fixing chronic inflammation :
1 remove processed food
2 replace some support for digestion like enzymes , stomach acid
3 reinoculate( probiotics DONT START W IT TOO EARLY THO add it after youve been in a clean diet )
4 repair (llutamine , omega 3 , vitamin A , vitamin D )
5 rebalancing ( rebuilding long term habits to make changes cuz 30 or 60 days wont do it for ur body it should be chronic like our inflammation haha jokes but make it a life time dont stop )
SLEEPP 7-9 hrs sleep at least
try to manage stress its not easy but try yoga, mindfulness ,time in nature 10 min walk
supplement's are helpers not heros start with ur lifestyle as a base then start with those (omega 3 fatty acids , Kurcamin , resveratrol , antioxidant , vitamin c , alpha liporic acid )

This explains exactly how I lived for years 😅 constantly swollen, sore, foggy, and tired. I was told to cut foods and take supplements, but nothing truly fixed it. I felt trapped in an inflamed body and exhausted all the time. In a women’s healing forum I was part of, someone casually mentioned Balanced Woman Playbook (by Mira Wells). Following it finally calmed everything — digestion smooth, energy steady, and 30 lbs gone. Feels like the real solution people avoid talking about.

:trophy-yellow-smiling: such a good synopsis about inflammation... you presented answers to questions that i've wondered about but hadn't thot to research bcuz there's so much repetitive info in here (youtube),,, and my doctors tend to dismiss any of my concerns - they mostly look at test results 🙄and prescribe meds (which i prefer to not take - i prefer natural nutritional or alternative physical therapy), your outline with the time is excellent. it 'shows' how... what... when = it's all connected!
