  Ah yes, because such vague and ambiguous lines like "YOU ARE FORERUNNER" and "CHILD OF MY MAKERS, INEHIERTOR OF ALL THEY LEFT BEHIND" could really mean anything. One can only theorize...

  Its not a theory It was literally the original poetic twist. The irony that the covenant were committing genocide against their own gods.

  "...gave Halo considerably more room to continue the story after Bungie's trilogy" - and they still manage to write themselves directly into a corner after 2 games. Halo might be the biggest dropped ball in the history of gaming.

  When I first played Halo when it first came out, I immediately concluded that humans and the Forerunner were the same when 343 Guilty Spark kept calling Chief &apos;The Reclaimer&apos;. &nbsp;I thought it wasn&apos;t even debatable at the time as there was no other reason for Spark to refer to Chief that way. &nbsp;I thought it was an amazing twist.

  Everyone who played Halo 4 had that moment of confusion when the Didact was revealed to be a 9 foot tall orc looking thing instead of a human.
