  This is an excellent episode. My husband and I are adult converts to the LCMS from Pentecostalism. I was shouting amen when the pastor discussed how beautiful it is to take the Lord’s Supper in a sacramental church and what a joy it is to be in a church that appreciates church history. Love this episode!

  This was wonderful. In complete and full agreement with all that was said, especially the last word: we are the Western Catholic Church, cleansed by the Gospel. Not Roman or Papist but only Catholic. We ought to ALWAYS embrace our catholicity enshrined in the Confessions, and not be afraid of appearances or mere scoffers.

  I was brought up Methodist and then spent 20 years in a non denominational church. I just happened to visit a Lutheran church. I hear hymns, creeds, a congregation  that knows the Bible really well. It made me want to read about the early church fathers. Imagine my surprise to find out how wrong the modern churches have become.

  I definitely appreciate this conversation.  I attend an LCMS church,  I was formerly an evangelical/pentecostal, but I joined the Confessional Lutheran church after I read more about Church history and historic doctrines.  I have been thinking many of these topics lately, Rev. Evan Scamman is speaking my language.

  When you talk about what draws people into the church, the word that comes to mind is authenticity. Our LCMS church is growing significantly more than virtually all other churches in our circuit that offers no "contemporary worship service", and communes every Sunday.

  I’m considering Lutheranism as nondenominational Protestantism just hasn’t stuck and I’ve never really found a church home.  This video is very helpful.  I love the history and tradition of the Catholics and Orthodox but need a church for my husband as well.  Hoping to join a cathechesis (?) soon until then I’ll be checking out more videos.  Thank you.
