  My partner has worked in Concrete for almost 20 years now. He wears those same type of shirts. He had a massive collection of them as he has worn them for years. We have been together for almost 4 years. He has a bigger wardrobe than me! I just went through his White Shirts & pulled almost 5 dozen that either do fit him or have stains & holes. I had to make room for his most recent purchase! Lol! 😂 Thanks for posting this video, I’m going take those old shirts, change the loom size & create a blanket out of it. He will never believe it was made from his old shirts! He will use it too. 😊

  Yay! Someone recycling stuff that's /genuinely/ tatty! So many people take perfectly wearable clothing and cut them up and call it recycling.  This looks like my ragbag! Nice result too.

  In a small town of Pakistan my uncle's family is running a business where these kinds of small and large rugs are made by hand made Machines. These machines are called Khaddis.

  My Mom taught me this as a child. (A Nordic family tradition) Forgot about it and haven’t  thought about weaving for many years. Thank you for the memories. I will take this craft up again. Can make so many different things. On a round loom, can layer and make hats, etc. so much we can do with recycling       used garments and cloth. Can’t thank you enough for this video.

  AWESOME!!! I have made plenty of these over the years. You don't have to cut the strings,  just pull the strings back and forth until you get to the end. Also, instead of cardboard for the loom. Use an old window frame that you take the glass out of. Use probably 100 screws or more placed equal distances straight across from each other so you get even spaced strings.

  When you are cutting the strings after the weaving is done, cut them from the back of the cardboard - half as many cuts and the ends are longer, so easier to tie the knots.
