I'm 72 years of age and still have the thrill of a child watching my seedlings grow and harvesting my crops. Love your gardening tips. Here at Orchard Cottage. We use drip irrigation for practically all of our plants. We do all over watering in the morning. All of our irrigation systems are on timers. Which I can adjust according to the season. And shut off during the winter months. To check the dryness in my soil, I do check with my finger and I also use a soil moisture meter. Bill and Janet from central California.
