If you aren't a thug, you might not be tough enough to survive my garden.

I love my Japanese anenome "Serenade". It thrives in the dry shade of my side garden (caused by the neighbours' conifer hedge, a large cherry tree and the house) doesn't get eaten by slugs and looks good from spring to winter! I combine it with ferns, Epimedium, serums, alchemilla, lemon balm and geraniums.

I have a rule: Anything that spreads by rhizome will only be planted in pots. For example mint and bamboo. I have both and they stay in containers.

It's very exciting watching some of my favorite YouTubers combining. It's very lovely to see Rosy Hardy on here too!

It’s 7am on a Saturday morning and I’m out in the garden with my cup of tea. Having heard the word of warning about the lysamachia firecracker I have just popped mine into a pot to contain it. Phew! So pleased I found this video 😅

If I am having difficulty with a thug in my low maintenece bed, I will edit a lot of them out and then introduce another thug nearby and let them duke it out.
