You made a quick passing comment about the mirror translation, being heretical and guilty of plagiary… Could you please back that up?

I have been part of the NAR hyper-charismatic movement since I met Che Ahn, Bill Johnson’s best friend, back in 1986. He became my brother-in-law when I married his wife’s brother. All the way up to last year, I was still “loving” the Passion translation…still drinking the NAR Kool Aid! Then I started listening to podcasters like you, Mike Winger, Julie Roys, tthe Minor Prophets, etc. In Feb., I was interviewed by Ron Cantor about my experience being around Che and Lou Engle who were my pastors at Harvest Rock Church, one of the prominent NAR churches. The scales came off quickly and I am so thankful I can now see more clearly. I am devouring as much as I can about the truth behind this cult-like system and the exposure of Brian Simmons and his Bible “translation” is one of the latest ones God has been making me aware of to protect my soul and my spirit from any type of falsehood. Thank you my dear. I am 60 years old and I’m old enough to be your grandma I think (unless you just look super young). I thank God you have been given so much wisdom and discernment by our Heavenly Father and I pray He continues to use you so those with eyes to see and ears to hear can see and hear Jesus better!

If we love God then we should absolutely care about the integrity of His word. I agree that if we love people as well and our leaders this is so important to address

When we look back at the reformation at men like William Tyndale and Jan Hus who went through extreme hardship up to being burned at the stake to translate God's word with fear and trembling to take up the cause, what Simmons is doing turns my stomach.

 Also a fellow reconstructed charismatic.
It’s a beautiful thing to be set free to be able to believe the scriptures for what they say and not be dominated by the teaching of a church/leadership.

You made some very good points at 21 minutes, where is the inspiration coming from, it could be the enemy and that is a valuable point to hold on to.
Thank you for your take on this.
🌻

As someone more on the cessationist side of things, I appreciate most of these videos against the NAR are by continuists. That's how it should be. We should be calling out the bad-faith actors on our own sides.

The BSSM and Bethel training that teaches it’s okay to guess at prophecy and get it wrong - this is training ground for false prophecy and false teachers because your emotions and feeling and intuition is trusted more than God’s Word.

It’s dangerous!!!

On of the things I've realised about much of the teachings coming out of Bethel and with TPT is a lack of old testament literacy. If your theology lacks continuity with what the OT prophets were teaching you have a problem.

I came to a Bethel Healing conference as well as another (and heard Sean Boltz)! Anyway I bought a passion “translation “ there and the. Erosion I got pre 2020 has a twelve page introduction by Bill Johnson. This is a lot to answer for.
