One of the things I look forward to Steve discussing is the competitive pricing of open source models. Steve said in an earlier episode that if Anthropic and OpenAI got into a price war with Kimi 3 they would lose. Today the New York TImes reported that the US companies that have adopted AI are using more Chinese open source models than US models. So if this video is saying that the August AI reports are already showing signs of weakness, job reports suggests a rate hike, and US models are being attacked in the consumer basis... we might be cooked.
