  Very excited about the project! Curious to hear what are your thoughts about it.<br><br>Edit: With Yesterday&apos;s news, seems like they will build Ottawa - Montréal first, and coming from the north (through Laval), which is an option that was not discussed in this video

  I hope they don&apos;t screw up this project. &nbsp;Straightening the path so speed can stay up is essential. &nbsp;2 hours Ottawa to Toronto and an hour Ottawa to Montreal would mean people could commute this way as long as prices are competitive.

  I think you&apos;ve got to bite the bullet and build that tunnel to Laval. This is going to be a project whose details affect transport for many decades.

  As a Londoner I’m a bit disappointed it stops at Toronto and doesn’t go on to London and Windsor (hoping for a later extension), but really I’m just glad that Canada is getting any high speed rail at all. I’ve been to Quebec City once and loved it (I went there on the current train network), if this project gets finished I’d love to go back on the new train, maybe visit Montreal for the first time on the way.

  I&apos;ll believe it when they break ground... it&apos;s not the first time we&apos;ve heard about them wanting to build a high speed rail connection along the Windsor-Quebec City corridor. As you point out, the issue they ran into in the past was that the existing tracks just aren&apos;t straight enough. :(

  For the possible YUL connection, there is still a space under the airport hotel that was supposed to be used for trains back when they wanted to build a connection to Mirabel. That could be a good space to put the HSR in for a direct connection to the terminal.

  They need to make a place to store bikes/scooters. I wanna bike/ride to the station, take the train to where I&apos;m going, and keep going. A place to charge my scooter would be awesome too.

  They need to connect to Kicthener-Waterloo and London eventually. These are the tech and university cities and much bigger population than Peterborough.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaMx3ADcORQ&amp;t=373">6:13</a> if you look on Geo Ottawa, you can see older aerial views of Ottawa and find that the original station had double the platform, where those parking lots are not used to be part of the station.

  I am super excited and cautiously optimistic about this project. Hopefully the people spending the money and the planners are brave and have good foresight in their decision making. I think MTL airport idea is fantastic.
