  The transformative effect this will have in this part of Canada can&apos;t be underestimated. <br><br>Being able to travel between Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal and back within a day would tremendously boost commerce, productivity and tourism. Provided fares are reasonable, of course.

  If your government claims that it is short of money and is worried that its projects will fail, you don&apos;t need to look at France, Japan or Germany. Just look at Indonesia which has a GDP per capita 10 times smaller than Canada. we were able to make a high speed rail which in just 1 year already had 6 million passengers and 90% of the train capacity was filled

  The problem these days is government is behaving and planning like private corporations; basing their decisions on the next election cycle(or next quarter in private business) instead of on long term generational impacts for the future. And that&apos;s why the &quot;government would be better if run like a business&quot; folks are dead wrong!
