  The new trainsets really are the bees knees. The seats are comfortable, there’s no swaying like the old trains, and the VIA staff are as friendly and accommodating as ever. Now if they could just work on the silly lining up to board and always having to wait for the passing freight train it would be fantastic. It beats driving or taking the bus every time.

  The best thing about the line is it takes you from downtown to downtown so you have comprehensive transit at both ends and can do the entire trip without a car.

  It&apos;s nice to have a visitor&apos;s perspective of our trains. Canada is way behind Europe and Asia regarding train travel.

  Took business class on my last VIA trip to Toronto. Only have good things to say about it. Comfortable and the food was surprisingly good. Two thumbs up!

  Nine years ago I took the VIA train along this route, and at one point the train had getting trouble going up a hill (it was raining.) The conductor(?) finally got up the hill but crossed into a zone he wasn&apos;t supposed to enter. VIA had to send a replacement crew because the conductor broke a rule. We waited on the train for 8 hours for a replacement. We arrived 8 hours late. We had no food onboard except for some cookies, which VIA handed out for free.

  Coming from Switzerland it still amazes me that in other countries platform are assigned dynamically based on availability and traffic. It usually hits me when boarding at Milano Centrale, where passengers hang out at the entrance waiting for the platform to be announced. In comparison in Switzerland ALL platforms for ALL trains fro the WHOLE year are already planned and published with the YEARLY timetable (starting December 6th) for EVERY single station on the network. Pardon the capitals, but it is worth thinking about the MAMMOTH logistic exercise this is.
