No talk of mud city walls of the ancient city of Kano, that was formed as part of the trans Sahara trade routes or the ancient Benin walls that was built with a moat surrounding it, at its peak it was longer than the Great Wall of China. However, those two ancient city walls to protect the inhabitants are not recognised as UNESCO heritage sights

Relax, nobody's going to live on the moon or Mars anytime soon. Stick to building homes for the homeless with whatever material comes to hand

Why does everyone seem so surprised by these walls? What did you think people used before cement?

I disagree! We SHOULD abandon concrete except as a stabilizer and road material and return to earthen wall construction. Here is why. It produces 1/10 the polution of either concrete or wooden construction. It lasts centuries with basic maintenance instead of decades which in turn decreases more pollution by not rebuilding the same structure over and over again. Since it breathes unlike modern plastic unwrapped homes it maintains a natural healthier air exchange. Constructed with at least 2 ft thick exterior walls it requires little to no external electricity to heat or cool. It is bullet proof to normal small arms carried by thieves and home invaders. And if owner built, easily possible, if costs a tiny fraction of the cost of a modern house construction.
