I had some success with Frankincense oil. It was on my face, and grew and got hard. I applied it numerous times daily and before bed. It got dark, red, it started to sting when I put the oil on it, then it dried and crumbled off. Lovely skin underneath.

I had bad sunburns when I was younger. I grew up in Miami and was out in a boat fishing all day in the summer. I developed actinic keratosis in my 20’s and have tried many at home treatments. The most effective treatment for red, spiky, ouchie patches is to rub castor oil into them. This works well for the crusty white patches on my face too. Rub castor oil onto my face in the morning then use a defoliator pad in the shower that evening.
