  I'd take a 1970's game over today's spectacle any day.  I wish I could spend a day in the pre-renovated Yankee Stadium.

  #4 -- Topps baseball and football cards from the 70s often did read on the back (from the cartoon) what the player did during the off-season.

  Also in 1975,  League umpires still used the outside chest protector. It was banned in 1978 and only grandfathered in ump could use them. The last of those umpires retired in the mid 80s

  There was no interleague play until the world series.  Was no wildcards in post season. You had to win your division. And small market teams had a chance. If you lived away from your favorite teams market it was hard to follow them. No streaming or satellite radio.

  There was a pitching duel between Warren Spahn and Juan Marichal. They both pitched over 14 innings and and the game ended 1-0

  Remember every single one of them! &nbsp;My dad would take my brother and I to Sunday doubleheader, Andy Frien would show us to our seats, holding our souvenir Louisville Slugger bat. &nbsp;Get autographs from players before games, keeping score and asking &quot;What just happened&quot; because I would be recording the previous play😂<br>Nancy Faust on the organ (I had a crush on her as a kid) Andy the Clown, Bill Veek would visit and have a beer with my dad and uncle. <br>The ol horse trough urinals! <br>Popcorn containers that became megaphones! <br>And my dad would stop at a neighborhood bar, fill his 1.5 gallon thermos with tap beer and walk in with it. &nbsp;He would buy the first 2 beers so they would have cups to use later with the thermos. <br>I do truly miss those simpler times when 27&quot; wooden Louisville Slugger wasn&apos;t even thought of as anything other than a souvenir.

  I remember you could bring a radio and listen to the game play by play, now they have a 10 second delay or more and now it&apos;s hard to keep up with the game play by play.
