Fun fact, at the Grammys Michael only got 1 award for Don't Stop Till You Get Enough. Michael was so pissed about only getting one award, he got Quincy in the studio and immediately went to make Thriller. Bro was so offended that he locked in and made the best selling album of all time out of spite.

I don't think the albums post-Quincy are bad. It became more experimental and it evolved. He did more crossover songs.

I wanna point out that, yes the trilogy with Quincy are the most popular albums and maybe a lot of people's favorites, but the ones after Bad are still incredible albums

I don't think the albums after Quincy Jones were bad by any stretch. Dangerous is a classic, and Invincible is criminally underrated. His style changed and evolved, as he was always reinventing himself. Dangerous and History are much more passionate, introspective, and darker (in my opinion), and the social/political MJ, and MJ the Healer, also came to the forefront. Invincible is straight up R&B, which is also a beautiful genre for him.

Please check the credits !!! Michael is a producer too. Quincy will be credited as a producer on every song on this album but just because he signed to be a producer. Michael produced composed and wrote his biggest and best songs by himself while Quincy was there and even after. People overlooked too much MJ’s skills as producer but he was producing since The Jacksons.

This album basically retired the disco era, there was nowhere else to take it

Michael was the producer. He already had demos. If you listen to Don't Stop till You Get Enough demo, which Michael already have before met Quincy, song is almost the same.
