  I have such a good story for you, Hannah. I am in the US now, living in the beautiful California wine country. But originally I am from  Burnham Beeches, Beaconsfield. Just 15 minutes from Cliveden. The origins of my family heritage is traced back there to early 1500's. When it comes to Cliveden, it played a major role in my lovely mum's life. In the 1950's, after the Astors but notably  before the Profumo affair, Cliveden was a nursing school and teaching hospital and my mum lived there on the grounds for 4 years. Mum always spoke of how wonderful it was and how all the resident student nurses were given the very best accommodations and morning cups of tea in their private rooms. Mum took her nursing certification and awards as a top graduate. She was also introduced to my father there at an RAF Officers dinner dance. Just another era! So Quintessentially British! Much later, in the early 90's, we went to stay at the hotel and the rest is just history. What a marvelous part to play in the history of a house. If you haven't come across it yet, 'The Mistresses of Cliveden' by Natalie Livingstone is a great read or audio book listen. Love all you do, Hannah and always watching! Nic' xx
