  The worst thing ever is the parfumed laundry conditioner. It makes me so sick and some people&apos;s clothes are literally drenched in it.

  Think of your grandmother&apos;s (or great grandmother&apos;s) kitchen. Plastics weren&apos;t invented yet. Things on throw out list are made of plastics or chemicals: Black tools, black coated pans, plastic cutting boards, plastic cling film, plastic sponges, &nbsp;Chemicals on coated pans, bamboo dished, tools. She used metal tools,with wooden handles - Cast iron, Metal pans ( I don&apos;t remember what metal), Enameled pans,Wooden spoons, wooden cutting boards,glass canning jars, earthenware bowls, plates for lids. Cotton Dishclothes. To clean: soap and hot water, vinegar, baking soda.Oh, and she opened windows every morning for 5-10 minutes - even in 40 below weather to air out house and also in the hot summer evening after sundown to cool the house down to sleep in a cooler house. Locale - Canadian prairies.

  I&apos;m Swedish, and we&apos;ve always used wooden products in the kitchen - never, never any toxic plastic/teflon material in our food. But I travel to the Greek islands several times a year for work - I teach archaeology - and in Greece I realized how superior the Greek, handmade olive wood kitchen utensils are. Pine is okay, but olive wood is amazing. They&apos;re also incredibly cheap. I get tons of orders from friends and neighbors every year. In a shop in Embonas (Rhodes) I was told &quot;You&apos;re from Scandinavia, huh? You&apos;re the only foreigners who buy them.&quot;
