These guys were so achingly cool in the 90s. Unique style, games with amazing gameplay, way ahead of their time. ❤

Proud to say this was my first job out of school back around '98, Wavertree Tech Park working on the likes of F198, Eliminator, Sentinel Returns, Rollcage, Retro Force.
My favourite title I worked on was WipEout 64. We had dev kits for the DD64 ready to make extra tracks for both Destruction Derby / WipEout 64, and I remember the fallout when Sony refused to pay the upfront costs to Nintendo, forcing us to let Midway take publishing credit.
I was part of the redundancy wave you mentioned, so only there about 18 months before a bunch of us went to work at E.A. down in Guildford.

No other jobs have ever been able to hold up against Psygnosis or EA... almost 30yrs on !

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, great video

The amount of research and work that went into this video had to be a monumental task. Thanks for all of your efforts MVG!

@21:30 - We are now closer to 2052 than we are to Wipeout's original release in 1995.

Psygnosis were moving very quickly during the rise of 3D gaming. They were innovating and pushing the industry forward with exciting ideas. It's a shame Sony destroyed them.

That first Colony Wars game blew me away. The visuals, the controls, the atmosphere....amazing.

My brother-in-law was their security guard in the Leeds branch. It paid his Uni fees!

I remember wipeout being at raves and they were dishing out free red bulls as well.
