This video is not monetized through YouTube ads due to copyrighted music, I'm not interrupting the enjoyment! Stay frosty, my new SFM/Blender project is also TF2-related and is going to be a couple hours long!

EDIT (2025-07-30):
I avoided rewatching this video for a long time, until a few people, eyes lit with curiosity, told me it changed the way they see me. So here’s the story behind its creation, maybe it’ll explain why it hit them like it did.
I started creating this video when I was 14 and a half. I was a very social kid at 13 despite being super autistic: I was building calculators, 64 input paint machines in minecraft and winning national programming competitions thanks to my father who's love language was teaching me skills. However, as soon as I found out about animation, 3 of my passions: movies, software and writing found a love child. My social life rapidly diminished since I was mostly seeking approval of 20-28 year old animators online, like The Winglet, Dastar(ly) and Thoopje who coached me. The Heavy character is a subconscious representation of them now that I think about it. That's what the first 20 minutes are about - mentorship. As my social life diminished - no longer the class president, no longer getting valentine gifts, no longer engaging in semi-meaningful conversation at the age of 16 - I had my first success - a video that got 350 000 views in 3 days. That month, a bitter kid pulled in $7,000 in ad revenue. I was hooked.
I became obsessed with animation, I was hiring 5 people twice my age a month to work for me, while my real life was becoming a dull afterthought. My grades were terrible, I wouldn't interact with anyone willingly and carried movie scripts to school to write during lessons. That's when I begun working on the section of the movie when Medic takes over the story. Medic was me - isolated, self-important, drifting. As my parents divorced and I landed in a rough public school, I began to wake up. I started socializing again, and the third part of the story represents a critique of my way of thinking from before. Medic in his vanity thinks that his acomplishments are why he deserves unconditional warmth and connection. This mindset fails him just like it failed me before. As The Tenth Class gets introduced into the story, medic finally breaks and admits before himself that he doesn't care about being a valuable asset, but a human being that requires connection with others regardless of how capable he is. The night I uploaded the video, I took a hit of acid with friends. They watched and seemed to enjoy it a lot. I laughed, cried. I tried three times to recapture that feeling. Love you dudes.
The next part of my life was a period of uncertainty, reflected in the characters. I was broke, depressed, without a team of animators, and in my attempts to remedy my months of poor financial decisions I started to resent everyone around me. BLU Engineer was my anger personified - sick of being held back, fed up with everything. Red Boss - cold, pragmatic life itself. Get it done. No excuses and no emotions. While Medic represented the connection seeking part of me. Medic finds his first triumph - that connection he was seeking was in the character of Spy, who further pulls him back from what needs to be done with the Red team.
My life was in complete financial disarray as I started animating the "Green Team" section of the video; I was more interested reading philosophy and drifting around dingy clubs and houseparties in my city rather than getting my shit together. Medic and Spy going full "Summer of Love" reflect that. However, at the time I started meeting people in the industry, not quite the "Big Wigs", usually older people who recognized my gift in animation, but saw the lack of discipline, "bad habits" to put it mildly and stunted emotional inteligence. They are represented by the Brown Soldier - he snaps medic and spy out of their hippie slumber and redirects them to return to the Red Team. His last smile in the video is the most important shot to me - medic found connection while being a practical man of discipline.
This video is manic and random, but there's a structure in it. I love it for what it is. Since than, I still cycle between the online and real world, with more success in both areas. I took a gamble and decided not to study - learned blender, started a Patreon that earns passive income, got hired by people in LA and Dafuq?!Boom, similar-minded peers from Poland and started my most ambitious project - a Cartoon about Poland made from scratch. It's fun, this Life thing. Thanks for reading and good luck on Your journey!

EDIT (2024-02-06):
It's been a couple of days and I wanted to write a bit more about this "movie".
The very generous 25000 likes compared to 340 dislikes, speaks to Your leniency and understanding, for which I'm very thankful, however, I still feel the need to say the things I'm about to say, to kind of... explain myself?
I think that if I hadn't experienced the production of this movie, I would have written a rather scathing comment about it. I'm glad that I found my "visual identity" and an audience throughout making it, however, It's such a wasted opportunity because I poured tons of time and resources into making it. If I only had sat down with one of my life mentors 6 years ago, and written a coherent script, instead of half-assing it, expecting people to dismiss the obvious errors in judgment due to it being a YouTube video, I would be able to proudly sit down and show it to both fans of TF2 and fans of movies. I can't do the latter and the former.
As of now, when I skim through it, I sometimes grind my teeth at the wasted opportunities and sometimes smile with joy when I see that I have captured a meaningful emotion with my animation. If I were to rate this, comparing it to "real movies", I would give it a 3/10, all things considered. That being said, I hope that this video is an important milestone in my visual-storytelling-identity seeking process.

The fact that the tf2 community is able to do those hours long masterpieces on old, cranky and buggy software is just amazing.

a big reminder that this all started because a red scout and blu sniper were dueling against each other in a match.

You can really tell how the time has passed when after the intro you see the first scene and the whole style is different

I love that Demoman having no explosive-related charges means that prior to being a TF2 mercenary, he only used explosives legally or somehow managed to avoid being caught.
