Honestly, the fact that the busdriver was well-known and reliable enough that parents instantly knew something was wrong when he was a mere fifteen minutes late (easily explained by heavy traffic or maybe a flat tire, something not too serious) shows how good of a bus driver he was and that he was clearly trusted by this community.

I heard somewhere "if a crime can be paid off with a fine then it is only illegal to the poor."

That stuck with me and is present here.

Can't imagine being 9 years-old and having to be brave and protective of 4 and 5 year-olds. Such good kids.

If memory serves, Mike wasn't originally going to be on that trip, but his mother encouraged him to go. As horrid as what they all went through was, I honestly believe it was a miracle that Mike was there. They may never have been found if he hadn't been there since it was his tenacity and refusal to go down without a fight that ultimately ensured that they would be found. None of what they went through should have ever happened, and I hope all of the survivors are doing well

The fact that all the kidnappers are free today is insulting

The fact they could’ve died if they never attempted to escape shoulda been an instant life sentencing

Imagine planning a kidnapping for a whole year because you got no more daddy's money just to be foiled by a 14 yo pushing away 2 plywoods 💀

"This world's been looking for you" might be one of the most weirdly comforting things that has ever been said. It told them everything they needed to know, so immediately. We knew you were gone, we've found you, you're not alone, you're safe ❤️

The kidnappers are described as intelligent, but the kidnapping note starts. "You're bus have been kidnapped", so not so intelligent.
