  I put a cotton sheet in the roaster put the cappings in and add water and set to lowest setting put lid on and when all melted just lift the sheet and let strain and cool. Once hardened, remove.

  You can skip the dripping in the totes, just set all of the wax in the pans, when the bees have leveled it out , stir it up, you might have to do it several times but that way the bees will get lots of the honey out. I hope you have water in the roaster, it keeps the wax from getting too hot,  that way you don’t need the soap which means you can’t use the wax for candles, lotions ect… soap in the wax is an old wives tale that doesn’t work the way it said it does. Also try a big kitchen strainer lined with cheese cloth, . Also before putting the wax back in, scrap the dirt off the bottom.

  Kinda dangerous with that roaster so full. I do the same method but I never fill my roaster more than half full. Never tried the soap, just press on the side of bucket to loosen first.

  Could have used a small pan with handle, to take down the full roaster to a safer level.<br>I never heard of the dish soap trick, what is it used for? Thank You ! &nbsp;🤓🐝☮

  Cool. A friend of mine does the large crock pot melter route. &nbsp;Going to try that this year. To much shade for my solar. &nbsp;I have used silicone molds for years or large aluminum pans with some water in the bottom. &nbsp;I think you would be surprised how well several layers of paper towels work as &nbsp;a filter. &nbsp; &nbsp;Hang in there and good luck!
