  I still have canola honey coming in .Sept 1st <br> Its &nbsp;not a good thing this late . Its hard to treat mites and makes fall feeding &nbsp;rushed we need to get all the canola out of the hives so it delays fall work .<br> Space &nbsp;extra space .<br> A good double &nbsp;here needs 4-6 empty &nbsp;supers and we never use &nbsp;excluders(honey crop reducers ) during honey flows .<br> Brood in the 3rd or 4th can be moved &nbsp;into a small hive or down or for splits .<br>Susan puts extra wax on waxed new foundation &nbsp;and the bees draw it out way faster .

  I store supers on pallets standing on their sides with a gap between each super so the wind and sunshine can get in. Wax moths don&apos;t like sunshine and a breeze so they leave them alone. Once the first frost comes, I stack them up like you have them now.

  I use cheese wire cutter and heat gun. Heating the cheese wire cutter helps too. We keep extras in almost boiling water. Location of resources makes a lot of difference. Less fly time for bees.

  Looking forward to the honey harvest video! Basswood was weird for me here in western NY - I have a number of large, old trees on my property that were full of flowers - but I hardly saw any bees on them. Maybe they weren&apos;t producing much nectar but conditions seemed pretty ideal. I did harvest some honey last week (my first, hooray) and can&apos;t tell if there is a dominant source. Tastes like a lot of clover but not pure clover. Just a summer mix of some kind.

  Our rhubarb and red creeping thyme also produced heavy along with the orchard and basswoods. The clover cover crop in orchard bloomed great too. Record low mites this year too. I use Lazutin hives. 15 double deep frames. I let them rob frames after honey extracted. Then freeze them. And add divider board for winter. This year I ran out of space in 3 of my hives.

  Funny about playing with plants in traffic. &nbsp; My father is a botanist. &nbsp;When I was a child, he would wake me up early every Saturday morning and take me to the woods well before the sun came up and we’d collect plants for his college projects. &nbsp; He taught me all the scientific names of all the native plants. This is how I fell in love with bees at such a young age. &nbsp; I’d watch them in the clover for hours. &nbsp; <br><br>On vacation, he would come to a screeching halt on the highway because he would spot some plant 100 yards in the middle of a cow pasture that he wanted to study and add to his collection. &nbsp; Drove mom crazy. &nbsp;Lol

  We use metal &nbsp;key word metal 9 frame spacers &nbsp;in our honey &nbsp;supers .adding honey supers is fast you can add them three at a time if you can carry them and you dont need to stop to space them <br> Open your whole yard Add supers put on cover &nbsp;go back for more .<br>9 frame boxes hold more honey than 10 .<br>8 frame honey supers tend to be hard on the frames if you arent very gentle handling &nbsp;them .

  They need light and air flow to deter the moths, alternating them as you stack them under a pole barn or under a lean too. <br> &nbsp; Look how Bruce Bees store them or Mr. Ed😮. &nbsp;They both use the same method as I.<br>Congratulations on the season you guys are having
