  My father did a lot of building conservation. I know his recipes are what you talk about..... He died before I realized I needed the knowledge.... Now I know... Thanks

  Always use a 95 mask and industrial gloves when working with hydrated lime.

  I&apos;m a 63 yr old woman with a dish size chip by my back gate we&apos;ve tried to fix it a bunch of times, and it keeps crumbling every yr so we just leave it now it&apos;s bigger and I &nbsp;have to &nbsp;repair it my house was built in 1947, because of a fixed income I can&apos;t afford squat so &nbsp;I &nbsp;do appreciate the knowledge you have given me, I &nbsp;live in the messed up city in Ca USA, Where the carbon monoxide is so prevalent they don&apos;t even try to make it livable pretty soon we will &nbsp;have to wear toxic gas masks, just to live where I do it&apos;s terrible I &nbsp;want to buy your set of books I &nbsp;like learning hacks that aren&apos;t going to hurt me more than I &nbsp;already &nbsp;am so I salute your way of life and thank you for helping people like me

  You are correct about sand lime mortar. &nbsp;My ancestral home was built from bricks fired on the property using your sand lime found on the property and is as solid when it was built in 1829.

  A small portion on the side of the driveway looks like it is desintegrating. Crumbling. <br>I plan on removing all what could be removed or loose. Then I plan to frame the portion to continue the rest of the border and fill with that mortar. My brother was a constructor in Argentina and I saw him doing that mix in the special buckets for such activities. Never see those buckets here in the USA. They are with a narrow bottom, wide top. Perfect for mixing “cal y arena y agua”, lime, sand and water using the same tool used to spread the mix onto the bricks. I’d love to do it by myself. <br>Those buckets were metal, later made with old tires recycled. Inexpensive. How many memories. ❤thanks

  I am 74yrs I live in Trinidad in the Caribbean, I have to build a retaining wall at the back of my plot approximately 100 feet at a height beginning at about 5 feet and scoping out to about 4 feet. Maybe ideal to use with limestone rocks. Anyhow thanks for bringing forward this info, very appreciated. You are blessed to bring these Truths forward.

  I&apos;m going to work on the garden path, it&apos;s hard to keep up with the weeds. I&apos;m 64 grandma and still do all my outside work 😩 😅😅❤❤❤❤
