the decided to build their own final products and failed to produce enough - and they failed to move forward to 32 bit - awesome ride whilst it lasted

Always though what killed them was ambitions. The late designs where horribly overscaled, expensive and they faced compatibility problem> The competitor issue was the final nail.

Sorry, a lot of this information is not correct, the flagship 5500 was released at $299. I remember, because I paid it, and 36 days later the price dropped to $199, and Shircuit Shity would not price match it for me.<br>While informative, this video is not put together well and jumps around too much. It gets information wrong (like 55500). It also makes no mention of the 2D/3D combination cards (Rush) and TV variants (Banshee/3500TV). Also Hardware T&L was done by 3Dfx, on Voodoo 1 and 2 these were dedicated chips. While the 5500 was slightly slower than Geforce 2, NVidia also released Geforce2 almost a year after the 5500.<br>I can't continue watching this video with so many inaccuracies.
