4th Edition: Rebranded the realm as the Feywild. It established that time flows unpredictably (sometimes faster, sometimes slower), but removed the explicit, immediate "aging to death" penalty upon departure.
°°°
5th Edition: Kept the time dilation as an optional rule in the Dungeon Master's Guide (p. 50).
°°°
At our table...
3/3.5 for game mechanics 4/5/5.5 for lore.
Except for The Raven Queen.
She isn't canon to the
Forgotten Realms sourcebooks.

26:40 Actually, the concept of four seasonal courts in DnD appeared in the Eberron setting, where Seelie/Unseelie courts dichotomy isn't a thing at all. There stated seasons change in the Feywild not because of nature cycles, but the throne wars and intrigues between four courts. The leading court change the season in the Moon Vale (the main part of the Eberron's interpretation of the Feywild) to its.

This is a really good breakdown! Definitely keeping this bookmarked for reference! I’m surprised how few overviews of the Feywild there are and I really enjoyed how you laid out your information.

Just FYI "Siobhan" is a real world Gaelic name, pronounced "Shih-von" / "Shivon"

3:10 I've been always wondering, how do all the settings fit in here? E.g.: there's Neverwinter and there's Evernight in Shadowfell, meaning Feywild and Shadowfell are the echoes of Toril. Then what about Oerth, Krynn, and other world?
