  A friend got me into the novels back in &apos;92. They lifted me out of a period of depression. <br><br>Later ofc, the pc games came out, once again lifting me of a very rough &nbsp;stage of my life.<br><br>I guess you could say they were my savior.<br><br>A very special thanks for this piece of nostalgia.

  My brother handed my the Icewind Dale trilogy when I was 16, back in 1998. I was hooked hard after that book. I&apos;m proud to say that I have read all of the books of Drizzt.

  I collapsed a lung 10 years ago. It almost took me from this world quite frankly. <br><br>So after the doctors repaired what they were able to, and then get me on the mend, I was informed by one lung specialist that I would be in the hospital for a minimum of two months, possibly longer. <br><br>I am a fan of The Lord of The Rings, and after demolishing the trilogy, and then The Hobbit, I needed something else. A coworker had brought The Dark Elf trilogy with the invitation to &quot;try it out&quot;.<br><br>&quot;Thats nerd shit, Steve&quot; I said, not realizing i in fact am a nerd..<br><br>&quot;Bro, you read Lord of The Rings, shut up an read these. You&apos;ll thank me later&quot; he says.<br><br>Well. Thanks Steve. The books you gave me have helped me through a real hard time.<br><br>This franchise/series of books have done more for me than words can articulate.

  Been a fan of this region ever since Icewind dale came out! Kuldahar Theme is still one of the greatest pieces of rpg music ever made.
