We just stayed in an apartment in Da Nang and we needed extra toilet paper, went to the mini mart and bought some, a few dollars….we also found a spatula for about a dollar….we don’t consider them hidden costs, they are living expenses, we also found it cheaper to eat out than cook so some of the things you bought we would find unnecessary, stay safe

It's more affordable to eat out than cook in Vietnam if you are solo. Usually it's more affordable to eat out if it's only 2 of you.

My perspective is when we travel full time, every washers we go we are just living our lives so we are responsible for it’s quality and buying that stuff that makes us comfortable is nota big deal. Just life 😊

Looks like this video made a lot of people emotionally reactive. Weird. Keep up the great work.

I was in Hanoi in May and stayed in an AirBnB -Apartment in Royal City for 35 Euros a night for a total of three Weeks. The apartment was dirty, full of mold and dust, as they did not have good cleaning products. If I were renting an apartment for a few months, I would cook for myself. Thanks for sharing 🥰

You can also buy disposable folks and spoons if you want to make sure they are clean. I also got a cold in Danang. Not very serious. I suspect it is from taxi driver. So next time you might want to wear mask if you will be in taxi longer.

This is why I got an IHG credit card last year. I got 140,000 points when I made my initial spend (promptly paid off), bought points when they had points sale and used with shopping (again, promptly paid off). I’m at 589,000 pt and counting. When I do my SEA slow travel in 2027, I will be booking only hotels using points. Redemption rates are good in that part of the world. I should be close to a million points by 2027. I’ve seen too many videos about less than ideal Vietnam rental apts.

Sounds like what I normally do for any trip in the U.S. I go on a trip and find the closest Dollar store. Scissors is usually the ONE thing I must get no matter where I go, since you cannot carry them on a plane. But those dishes in that dishwasher were GROSS. I was eating my salad and almost gagged. LOL. Do you throw that stuff away? I am guessing you don't get to inspect before you walk in. That is how it is here in the US. I do have to say though there was one place I stayed in Nebraska that was a 'long stay' hotel and it was actually one of the best and so clean. Another one in West Virginia as well. Some of those long stay chains do a great job here in the US. <br>So now I am going to watch your other ones suggested.

That must be some kind of air BNB I prefer living in serviced apts or a good hotel I'm out most of the time anyway 😁
