I Want To Trust This Beautiful Motorcycle, But...

I always inspect my motorcycles after each is serviced by a dealer. That includes checking the oil and the oil plug and filter for tightness.

Trusting a motorcycle to get you from Starbucks to Dunkies across town is one thing, but trusting it to carry you across the country is a whole 'nother level of trust. I have owned bikes that while on a long ride in a pretty lonesome part of the country I spent the whole ride saying to myself, "What was that?! Is that a vibration that wasn't there a minute ago?! What warning light is that?!" And the ride was ruined. Get the bike back to factory-level trustworthiness by fixing, repairing, removing and replacing those things that aren't working. Otherwise you will be mapping your travels by the locations of Guzzi dealerships which also takes a lot of the Bella Vita out of the ride. Best of luck and thanks for the video! Troubles shared makes them a little lighter.

For the love of Guzzi I hope you get things resolved and continues to be your happy place, mine is my 2024 V7 TEN. It's hard to explain to anyone other than a Guzzi owner how it makes me feel riding it.

Oh man! I would be feeling exactly the same! I actually can feel your pain because I also believe at this point there is no excuse for any of that. Best of luck

THE second you said heated grips I thought "oh here we go". I had heated grips installed on my FJR1300, and proceeded to burn out two rectifiers before adding a higher powered stator. Heated grips have always, for some reason, been the gremlin in my world. If they don't come standard, I no longer install them.

Part of the problem here is that a motorcycle manufacturer suddenly has to be a software development company as well. It's a complicated puzzle to figure out. Big car brands also don't get it right. My 2018 Audi has some software quirks as well. But on a motorcycle it feels different... it takes away from the raw experience.

It’s these genuine, highs and lows of everyday, motorcycle life that make your stories so relatable Bug. I hope time brings her back to you…

Thanks for posting this ... I have to admire your honesty with a bike that is so dear to you. Sometimes it's hard to hold the things that you hold dear to account objectively. Your doing so helps others who are also fascinated by motorcycles with character to choose with eyes wide open 😊 🙏

I have a MG Breva 750 for 12 years now and have 85000 km on her. Been all over Europe with no doubt in the bike. Sure, it has issues, not big ones at least. But Moto Guzzi is a bike with a soul and requires needs just like a family member. You care for it and it will take care of you...

The bolt that snapped was probably over-torqued at the factory.

When I bought my 2015 California 1400 brand-new, it warped the rear rotor in the first thousand miles. Luigi had too much vino at lunch when he built mine, and installed the rear brake caliper on crooked. She had a recall for blowing alternator fuses as well.

That was 11 years ago, and 35 thousand miles later...we're still in love. The struggles are sometimes part of the bonding experience.

My 2016 V7 got a new engine at around 700 miles. There was an issue in the block machining causing clutch issues. We're still happy too, though she does burp oil into the airbox. Might want to check there (Italians and EURO emissions don't play well together)

Thanks for your honest explanation. At present my V7 Sport, which is my 4th Moto Guzzi, is causing a warranty issue either. But as I have done rawly 200.000km without any trouble on the priviouse Moto Guzzi's, SP II, V9 Bobber and V85tt, I'm still confident that as soon as the one issue I have right now is fixed I will love my V7 Sport. I hope yours will prvide you the happiness you expect from it, too.
