  Go to a nursing home and talk to an 85 yr old man. Ask him what an extra few hundred dollars a month would mean to him. It doesn&apos;t mean two sh!ts when you are no longer able to do anything. Draw it when you can and enjoy it before you can&apos;t.

  I took SS at 62. Wife and I traveled extensively, saw all 50 States, Mexico, Canada, Honduras, Belize, Italy, Switzerland, France, and Belgium. We drove Route 66, made dozens of stops along the way. We took the train from Pittsburgh, PA to Whitefish, MT. We did it all while we were still young enough and strong enough to do it and enjoy it. We made millions of memories, took thousands of pictures.<br>You cannot buy memories later. You have to make them now, while you can.

  Take the money and RUN! &nbsp;This is exactly the type of analysis I did on my own and I started taking SS at 62. No regrets.

  You are gonna get many retirees to agree with you .... 71 years old now .. retired at 60 .. took SS at 62 ... money is still growing every year. The KEY is what my Grandfather told me years ago ..... &quot;MONEY CAN&apos;T BUY TIME&quot; .... live while you&apos;re young and don&apos;t be greedy. Enjoying a modest life with family and friends is MUCH BETTER than being a millionaire in a nursing home. PERIOD.

  I just pulled the trigger at 62 plus a few months to start in Jan…..first male in my lineage (generations) to ever get to SS age…

  I had a heart bypass at aged 44, and was diagnosed as a diabetic in my late 50&apos;s. I drew social security the first day I could, at aged 62. I am close to 70 now, and am COMPLETELY happy with my decision.

  At 60 was told by a surgeon that I was worn out physically. Trusted him and pulled at 62. Work just a bit part time and happy!

  The other thing that seems to never be discussed (was touched on here) on this topic is how unpredictable life is. &nbsp;Life isn&apos;t guided by spreadsheets. &nbsp;Things can go sideways very fast in peoples lives. &nbsp;Taking retirement a little early and enjoying life while you still can is priceless. &nbsp;We can&apos;t take it with us.

  My biggest fear is not living long enough to break even. It&apos;s out living my money. If I die before I break even, &nbsp;so what. I am dead. If i live a long time, I will need the money extra money.
