  Worst part of DP is Ambipom. All that buildup only to get unceremoniously given away. And until the Leon battle flashback, she’s just gone. No flashbacks, references, or anything. Like she never existed. There’s a ping pong episode in SM, and Ash acts like he’s never heard of it. Ash also lives in Vermillion in JN and he never even considers visiting Ambipom.

  For Advanced, I'd add Steven not being the one to help with the Aqua/Magma plot. They brought back Lance for no reason.

  This just goes to show that there’s no such thing as “Perfect” Pokemon series. Every series, in one way or another, has its flaws

  I feel the slice-of-life tone for SM anime fit the Alola of the games pretty well. At least until we start diving into the Aether storyline, it was the most chill region they&apos;d had: there&apos;s initially no League, the Island Trials are a coming-of-age tradition. Hau is the friendliest friendly rival yet, he just wants to eat malasadas and make his grandfather proud of him. And the apparent villain team is this goofy gang of disaffected teenagers run by a wannabe gang leader. The overall feel of the quest (again until we hit the Beasts/Lusamine/Necrozma parts) is a fun tropical vacation journey with your new friends.<br><br>I suppose that&apos;s why I adapted quicker than most, I felt they were trying to emulate the mood the games had.

  Hard disagree on Clembot being rebuilt undermining the sacrifice. The fact that he doesn’t have his memories does make all the difference, it’s not the same clembot who sacrificed himself it’s just a new version. We all knew clemont would eventually rebuild him because he needs clembot to run the gym, the fact that the OG clembot is forever gone isn’t undermined by there being a new one. The other thing is that Serena’s goal at the end of XY is still to be kalos queen so it’s not like she decides to become a full time coordinator. I don’t really see how that hurts any of the emotional journey she went on. But yeah, the greninja release sucked.

  The one thing where I can agree on, is where ash has to leave his Greninja behind to, clean up team flares mess.<br><br> They could have addressed it, and fixed it all in pokemon journeys but no.

  I think another issue Horizons has is that they get these really crazy ideas but they don’t commit to it. A prime example is when Liko, Roy, Dot, and Ult were framed as the bad guys and were hated by the public. This was crazy but Horizons never followed through with it.<br>Edit: Guys… I’m talking about public media hate. Why are you guys acting like I wanted them to start assaulting them?

  The problem with Horizons after the time skip is that they didn&apos;t commit enough to any of their ideas. They had good ideas, but did not follow through hard enough for the story aspect to carry significant emotional weight. For example, the RVTs were framed as the bad guys by Spinel and had their reputation ruined in the eyes of the public, BUT this didn&apos;t really have many consequences in practice. Another example, pokemon powered up by strong spheres were initially built up as this over powered threat, but the main characters quickly learned to take them down easily, making the plotline boring. Example 3, it was sold to us that a major plotline post timeskip would be the RVTs getting back together, but this took less than 10 episodes, undermining the emotional weight of the situation. And the biggest offender would be Friead NOT having a good reason for NOT contacting the rest of the crew all the time he was gone. So the crew grieved, went into a depression, and split up for nothing. And when Friead did return, no one confronted him about why he didn&apos;t contact the crew members earlier. This diminished the emotional weight of the timeskip.

  Aside from all the filler and 2 in 1 episodes, I hate how Journeys treated Galar and the Galar starters. I get it was a world adventure anime, but we never see the Galar Starters together in base form aside from world of Pokemon segments.
