  Judging by the condition of the strings, the EDS1275 hasn't been played in years...what a shame.

  I still have my 1976 Explorer, and of course the gold plating is no longer existent. It has a beast of a neck, well within in the R8 territory with a 1&quot; neck depth at the first.

  Several years ago I walked into &quot;GUITAR CENTER&quot; located in Jacksonville , Florida<br>and I saw a used red and white &quot;FENDER VENUS&quot; twelve string electric guitar . At the <br>time I only had a &quot;FENDER&quot; acoustic twelve string guitar which I bought on the ship <br>that I was deployed to , which I paid only $264.00 at that time in 1993 . The price for <br>the electric twelve string was aroung $400.00 and I quickly put this guitar on lay<br>away and in the next few weeks I paid off the balance . I learned that FENDER did <br>not make the twelve string guitar for very long .

  Antiques are objects that are over a 100 years old, another 30 or so years to go for some of the guitars.

  Although not a guitar , my mother had a &quot;STRATAVARIUS&quot; violin . This violin had <br>a broken tuning peg and one day I was going to take it to a music shop to have<br>it repaired and my mother said : &quot;Oh no !!! That can&apos;t leave the house !!! &quot; When I<br>looked between the elongated &quot;S&quot; , I was shocked as there was a sticker that said<br>&quot;STRATAVARIUS&quot; . Some time later that violin disappeared , which I think that my<br>brother took it , which is good because mom had a house fire from a lightning strike!

  That woman at the 501 Mark when she heard that the guitar was worth about 35,000 she lied and said oh but it&apos;s not for sale right bulshit I thought you was going to cry there for a second when she found out how much she was worth

  Around the early 1980&apos;s I was sharing an apartment with my childhood friend &quot;Rick&quot; <br>and one day &quot;Rick&quot; surprised me with a circa 1960&apos;s HOFNER VIOLA BODY BEATLE<br>BASS GUITAR . I had always wanted one as I had been a long time fan of THE <br>BEATLES and their music . We went separate ways as he was going to marry his <br>girlfriend &quot;Shirley&quot; and I was going into the United States Navy in 1984 . While I was <br>gone , I let &quot;Rick&quot; use my HOFNER BASS as he had always been a trusted friend . I <br>left the &nbsp;Navy in 1997 and when I met &quot;Rick&quot; , I wanted my HOFNER BASS back . He <br>told me that I couldn&apos;t get it back because it was destroyed in a flood . He had left it <br>at his mom&apos;s house and the 1997 floodwaters came in about six to eight inches in <br>her house . I cried as I had lost my vintage HOFNER BEATLE BASS GUITAR ! <br>Years later I went into THE GUITAR CENTER and they had a retro HOFNER BEATLE <br>BASS GUITAR &nbsp;for around $400.00 . I knew that it was a retro HOFNER BASS as it <br>had the words &quot;B BASS&quot; engraved on a plate on the neck . I LOVED IT !!!

  When I was purchasing my first guitar, my guitar teacher recommended I get a used “student” guitar from the shop. <br>There was a used Mustang, Jaguar, &amp; a Jazzmaster &nbsp;$150 to $250. But they were antiques with checkered and chipped finishes. <br>So I got a brand new Kramer Pacer 1 humbucker, Fender trem, in candy apple red for $399. <br>My teacher didn’t know I planned on learning to play like EVH. (Doh!)
