  As always, another super interesting video! Being a bit of a horse nerd myself, I stumbled upon the Nisean horse while researching deeply the origins of Indian breeds—namely the Marwari, Kathiawari, and Sindhi—and discussing them with a breeder. These horses descend from Aryan chariot horses, Nisean horses, and Kushan stock. They were later slightly influenced by Turkmen, Thoroughbred, and Arabian horses (though the Arabian influence is actually much lower than it seems at first glance).<br><br>According to my research, their characteristic sickle-shaped ears and their natural gait (tölt ) likely trace back to Kushan horses. In general, I’d be thrilled to see your research on these Indian horses and the origin of their crescent-shaped ears!<br><br>On a side note, I wanted to add that white horses among these breeds are called Nukra or Nukri. They are bred separately from the official registry, as this color isn&apos;t allowed in the studbook (this is explicitly stated by the Marwari Horse Society). Nukra horses are most commonly found within the Kathiawari, Sindhi, or Marwari types.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpchMFbxurE&amp;t=856">14:16</a> Thanks for showing the Marwari(Nukra) horse, they are a beautiful one-man horse breed but not much known.<br>Everyone knows about bucephalus and his loyalty but most of the world is not aware of marwaris, they were specially bred for their extreme loyalty to their rider and there were certain bloodlines which bonded only with one in their entire lifetime.

  the persians were some of the first people to use full armored horses and men. &nbsp;the horses had to be strong to carry the weight yet light enough to run through sand. &nbsp;the endurance of such horses were legendary. &nbsp;camels would carry the equipment until it was time for men and horses to gear up for battle. &nbsp;horse men were called cataphracts in the army...around 1000 horsemen were called a dragon. &nbsp;along the side of the horse was carried an lance twice the length of the horses body and the riders could turn around in their saddles and shoot backwards ...this was called the parthian shot. &nbsp;there is a bunch of info on the persian and persian offshoot empire that gives a wealth of knowledge.

  Thank you, great video. Well done. I remember reading about the coast ponies that were used driving cattle from Texas north to the railheads in Kansas. A lot of those cowboys &nbsp;settled further north later with the same horses. It was said that the stronger grass in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana would even make mature horses from South Texas grow a hand taller and carry an additional 200-300 pounds of body weight after a couple years there.

  When you consider that these ancient people tended to be small and shorter than we generally are today, the descriptions of the size of these horses makes more sense, no? &nbsp;My late mother, who stood 4feet tall in riding boots and maybe 95 pounds at her heaviest, made my retired racing QH mare look very tall, all 14.2 hands of her.

  Whenever I see ancient artwork of animals and people expecting the real animal the artwork was based off of to be exactly the same, I always think of artistic license
