I’ve been taking taurine for 15 years. It reduced my tinnitus and I don’t get irritated very much. I used to get stress migraines when I worked and taurine resolved those. I’m on taurine for the foreseeable future.

Science alert. Just because you do not know the mechanism underlying a result does not get rid of the result. If taurine increase lifespan across organisms (and of course we should run studies in humans), then it does. Whether taurine levels rise, fall, or stay the same. It is nice to know mechanisms, but not being able to explain a result does not make the result go away.

I have an elderly cat, he is 18 years old and he has hyperthyroidism. At some point he started to become very weak, his legs were shaking, he could not jump and run, he was staggering. We started, in addition to the tablets for hyperthyroidism, also give Taurine and NAC, and the cat became more active, he started to jump and sometimes even can run a little, can fight back a young cat, in general his condition has definitely improved.

My results; I read many studies of taurine early in 2024, my idea wasn't to necessarily to increase life span as much as maintain my quality of life as I grew older, I'm almost 72 now. Based on what I read, in early 2024, I started taking high doses of taurine. Over the last 1 year+, the one major effect I've noticed is quality of sleep. For the last 30 years or so prior, my sleep probably averaged 5 hours a night, and oddly I rarely remembered having any dreams. Soon after I started taking 3 grams in the morning and 3 grams in the evening, my sleep changed dramatically, I average 7 to 8 hours sleep, it is easy to fall asleep and to return to sleep after being wakened during the night, and the most remarkable thing is I have dreams every night. The recent "taurine driving cancer" research didn't convince me to change anything.

79 years young, been doing 50 push-ups almost everyday for years. They were getting harder to do, Been taking 4 tablets a day , am now 81, can do 84 push ups at a time. Unbelievable, my strength and stamina are . My friends say I am getting younger looking, was asked if I had plastic surgery. The recommended dose was one tablet a day. Recommend everyone try it. I have ZERO health issues, let that sink in.

Taurine has worked wonders for me. So far, so good.

I knew it was a matter of time, as this amino acid became popular, a single study that contradicts the millions of others, would be covered by the mainstream thinking.

I take Taurine mostly to reduce my heart arrhythmia, not so much for anti-aging

Maybe taurine doesn't decrease with age but increasing it does add to longevity?
Here's the thing, I have aFib and over a 5 year period there were months I did take Taurine and times I didn't... I keep a pretty good log of events, check my blood pressure every day, my sugar and use a 6 lead Kardia monitor to check & record my heart whenever I feel the palpitations (feels like a bird trapped in my chest flapping around, you normally never notice your heart BUT when this is happening you damn sure do!)
Result: I noticed that over a couple years, when on Taurine I had 30 % LESS aFib events, documented in my logs (I developed the habit of carrying a little pocket spiral ring notebook for my job and just started using to record medical info too). And the ones I had seemed lighter and shorter SO I'll continue to take Taurine and if it's helping in other ways that's great too.

I experimented on my tropical fish. 2 same size tanks, same amount of feed a day, same water changes weekly. same number of same size fish. One tank fed with taurine live twice as long as the ones not fed! Amazing results. I am on Taurine for 15 years!
