  The cottages were weavers cottages, and they had the looms upstairs. &nbsp;The windows gave lots of light for the workers….

  You&apos;re doing the community of Holmfirth a great service by bringing the quaint little shops each offering their own unique charm to the attention of the public, encouraging local support of these cherished establishments. How beautiful and well said when you stated about this little town &quot;It&apos;s kind of everywhere you look there are little cobbled pathways leading off to little staircases and there&apos;s wrought iron handrails. It&apos;s just a gift that keeps giving&quot;. Thank you for blessing us with your ability to see through your artists eyes the beauty and symmetry that you&apos;ve discovered. ❤ I loved seeing the American flag 🇺🇸 on one of the buildings hid away from the street next to the&quot; The Potters Den&quot; (time stamp <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhGoYCBOREM&amp;t=2231">37:11</a>) &nbsp;i haven&apos;t seen that before. I kind of liked it because i live in America 😁❤

  Weavers cottages becks, the extra windows were for light so the weavers could see better. Thanks for coming to Holmfirth, I’m born and bread here, it’s lovely isn’t it.

  We spent a week in Holmfirth in June 2024. &nbsp;It was beautiful! &nbsp;We love Last of the Summer Wine and could not believe that the surrounding countryside is untouched from 40 years ago. &nbsp;Cannot wait to revisit.

  Last of the Summer Wine was a lovely series. &nbsp;Gentle humour - the comedy is warm and character-based rather than rude or aggressive.<br>Memorable characters - people grew attached to Compo, Clegg, Foggy, Nora Batty and the many other regulars.<br>Beautiful setting - filmed around Holmfirth, the scenery became almost a character in its own right.<br>Nostalgia - it reminds many viewers of a slower pace of life, village communities and traditional British humour.<br>All ages could watch it - families often watched together, so it became part of people&apos;s routines for decades.<br>The theme of staying young at heart - despite being older, the characters were always getting into scrapes and adventures.<br>For many fans, it&apos;s not just a sitcom; it feels like spending time with old friends in a familiar place.<br>Repeats are still shown on U&amp;Gold, and my son in his 20s loves the show.

  Absolutely beautiful, I love all the nooks and crannies. Gorgeous independent shops which are a breath of fresh air from all the horrible shopping malls. The houses with all the windows at the top could possibly have been weavers houses and they needed the windows for the light. Thanks Rebecca great video and great music.
