  Michael was in Sicily when Sonny was killed. Hence Apolonia's death would still change Michael's  trajectory.

  Another very interesting break would be if Apollonia survived and came to America as Michael's wife. She would be somewhat old fashioned like Michael's mother, but at the same time more modern and wanting to integrate herself into American life. Losing her as he did further cemented Michael's descent into the cold character he became, her survival might have kept his humanity more intact. Since he was already married, his later marriage to Kay wouldn't happen, so Anthony and Mary would have a different mother, presumably, which would shape how they'd be raised. The tension of the need to "take the family legitimate" tension with Kay wouldn't exist in the same way likely either. And so on.

  Michael committed himself to the Family Business when the police captain pulled the security from the hospital. The death of his wife Appolonia would have driven Michael deeper. He would have joined forces with Sonny and stabilized the family while Don Vito passed. The move to Vegas probably would have gone more smoothly with Michael being a greater support to Fredo. The other heads of the Five Families would have united around the Corleones against Barzini and Tataglia. The Family would have engaged in the drug trade after Don Vito died. So many different angles to consider.

  Good call in that if Sonny survived the ambush, he would be battle-tested and more strategic, suggesting a longer more successful reign.

  I wonder if it would change the trajectory on Michael’s life.<br><br>Seriously, I like the concept of these videos, but I am two for two and it spends most of the time repeating that Michael’s life would be different in the exact same fashions

  I still think Mike would’ve been apart of the Mafia as Sonny’s underboss, because Michael deciding to kill Solozzo and Mcclusky all based around him telling Vito he was with him, as well as his wife dying which made him ruthless

  If Michael is out of the picture than it would be Fredo who takes over if Sonny gets whacked. In GF 2 Fredo is seen as weak and undecisive and ultimately a traitor who sets up Michael for an assassination. But in the new timeline Fredo becomes very much like Vito his father, less prone to violence and more able to get along with other mob bosses.

  I think that experience would temper almost anyone. &nbsp;Not becoming a Michael, but definitely more cautious and thoughtful. &nbsp; And Tom&apos;s role would have stayed larger because he and Sonny were close and everyone I think including Sonny recognized the value of balance. &nbsp;I think this scenario need more nuance.
