  I'm 64, and I started playing when I was 8. I remember the first real electric I bought, An Aria Diamond, and it cost $125. That's in 1975 dollars. It kinda sucked, but it was the best sucky guitar I could afford. The action was high, the hardware and pickups were trash, but it's what was out there at the time. I could be mad that you can get a playable decent guitar for 1/4 of the price I had to pay, but I'm actually glad young beginners can actually afford to buy a playable good guitar.

  I got a PRS se custom 2408 back in march,I was blown away at how well it was built and how great it feels ,I have a 90s fender strat ,93 Gibson LP standard, I play the PRS se way more , Blown away how great this guitar plays and feels, Then I found out the PRS se is a limited Addition Anniversary series only 70 made world wide,It was sitting at guitar center in Main,It had a small diging in yhe clear coat I got it for $600,It was selling for $1,300, Then I told guitar center that the tuners were slipping and they sent me locking tuners,And i have a full 6 year Warranty on the guitar

  I received a new Yamaha Pacifica SC model a few days ago. The build quality and playability is superb. It's my first Yamaha and it certainly won't be my last. I think another brand that should make the list is Cort itself. I own four Cort guitars and they are all excellent quality at a fraction of the cost of other brands, made in a factory where many of the more well known brands are also made.

  I couldn't agree more with your #1 choice. PRS SE is an incredible guitar.  I have the option to play way more expense guitars, but I'm really enjoying playing my SE's.

  I agree. I have a Yamaha REVSTAR and a PRS SE NF-3 and love them both. My bass is a Sire Marcus Miller U5, and my electric-acoustic is a Yamaha A3M. All punch way above their price tag.

  In the 90s, I was a Charvel, Jackson & Kramer player, but they're not cheap budget guitars. Later on, in 2010, I shifted to Ibanez till present.

  I own a 1967 Yamaha classical.  The wood is beautiful, almost like new.  Sitka Spruce top and Indian rose wood back and sides, all solid wood. Bracing is scalloped.  I bought it for $100.  It’s now valued at $1000.   And it sounds heavenly.
