Totally worth it. $850 to keep it out of the scrapyard and make it a reliable daily is much more preferable to scrapping it.

Finding a used car for 5K is difficult these days, and if you do it will probably need some work. If the car you have is known to be solid, $800 in repairs and maintenance is probably a good investment.

Totally worth it.. since it was minor maintenance deferred by years. Having a trusted mechanic do the work. Seems like a great investment to keep it on the road.

I try to average at least $1.00 per mile income when I do delivery jobs, so if you get a car like this with $1000 into it and it runs for even 50,000 miles then that piece of scrap becomes a $49,000 asset.
