  This is actually why I respect Batman so much. His no kill rule isn’t some naive idea, but actually based on his morals, how he knows what kind of hole you can fall into if you kill. He’s basically the idea that hope can still appear in the darkest of places. He knows what it’s like to lose your entire world right in front of you and wants to make sure other people don’t experience that.

  The real truth about Batman is that he&apos;s actually an idealist despite being a cynic. He wants to believe, and that core of duality between a man knows the worst is humanity but still wants to believe that even the worst person can change is what makes him a hero, which gets lost a lot in adaptations and even in the source. Batman doesn&apos;t kill because he&apos;s afraid he&apos;d just start killing, but because he may be vengeance but he&apos;s also hope, and killing means he&apos;s given up that.
