I will mention that the definition of No Major Skips used to be based on the internal "Game Moment" value (this was an idea I liked originally but not anymore), but it no longer is, as we now define it by just listing the skips we prohibit. We even re-allowed a couple minor skips recently (Playground Skip and Junon FMV Skip)

Assuming the run hasn't gone catastrophically bad, character levels usually aren't the problem on Materia Keeper that requires stat adjustments, rather, character stat changes due to levelup in FF7 are just straight-up random (though are guaranteed to be within a range of at most 8 values for any individual level) in a manner that isn't reasonably predictable or controllable. This is why runners still have to check their stats even when they're the same level as usual.

Small thing: Powersoul only does 4x under Doom, not "a status ailment such as Doom". Master Fist is a different weapon that gives a 3x boost with other status ailments, but that isn't obtainable in most runs.

The standard 100% strat for Emerald Weapon is timed such that all the Omnislashes are performed while only giving Emerald Weapon enough time to do a single attack, which cannot kill Cloud. The fight taking longer than expected would also make the Curse Ring timer expire, though Death Force can be used to prevent issues here.

Carry Armor is actually hardcoded to sneak-attack Lapis Laser 1/3 of the time, so you were somewhat right :)

"Aerith is dead and Cloud is not in your control."

Yeah, I could see that becoming a bit of an issue.

9:53 "Aerith is dead and Cloud is not in your control" Sums up the second half of the story pretty well

i like the detail you went into (and the examples you shared/showed) about WHY these encounters are so difficult. i dont follow the speedrun community in such depth when it comes to these games, but i do find myself trying to ghetto replicate the results and failing for whatever reason.

well done.

I once triggered lucky 7 on Vincent fighting emerald, longest fight of my life, but I didn't know lucky 7 can be triggered by enemies

"Trying to take out the Materia Keeper with Molotovs would be incredibly expensive and incredibly slow".

And incredibly impossible. :P It absorbs Fire.

Great video though! There are so many categories and so many changes within the categories that it's hard to keep up with them all. There are a number of strats in here that I haven't seen before.
