As the series progressed, I felt that both Xever and Bradford were pushed to background henchmen when Tiger Claw, Bebop, and Rocksteady came along. Even how both their stories ended. Xever went just leaves and goes back to square one, and Bradford becomes a puppet for Kavaxus like Shredder.

The one thing I have an issue with is, if he was a snakehead he could breathe air. Because snakeheads don’t have gills and need to come up for air.

I seriously hate how much Dogpound and Fishface were unfairly side-lined for modern versions of Bebop and Rocksteady (characters who I feel didn't need to be brought into TMNT 2012)

It felt like they prioritized bringing in throwback characters over developing ones they already created from scratch.

I kind of felt bad that Xever never became human again. Like, when he helped the turtles against Kavaxus, and said he wanted to retire to the Caribbean, I thought the turtles would give him a dose of the retromutagen Donnie had developed. Heck, Mikey gave it to Stockman when he was still an enemy and didn’t even ask for it. But Xever never gets it, he just goes off into the night, still the worse merman ever. Like, even if he can somehow create a decent criminal life in the Caribbean, what happens when his mechanical legs and breathing apparatus break down and Stockman isn’t there to fix them?

Fishface felt more akin to a gag character or a joke for them to bully in certain episodes than a real character. He could’ve been a lot more interesting if they gave him a chance, or even upgraded his mechanical parts to make him less of a clumsy doofus

I mean really, half of his appearances are just “Haha look at Fishface getting beat up isn’t this funny? Lah-maow Ecksdee!”

I honestly agree with you on the "accent" problem. Until the flashback, I always thought Fishface was Mexican, not Brazilian.
My head canon is that he grew up in Brazil, but he came from Mexico.

I think it would be cool if we get Fishface,Dogpound and Tigerclaw in the IDW comics and have them developed and have more depth added to them.

Fishface was my favorite villain from the 2012 TMNT.

Am i the only one who thinks xever/fishface changed after season 1? He used to be more tough and bloodthirsty in 1 season. After that he started talking too much and got mocked by the other foot members. I think there is something with tiger claw eating fishes and bradford getting second mutation

I think they wasted them (Bradford and Xever), they were much more effective and entertaining in their human forms. Xever has lost his flexibility and speed (and probably his street authority), and Bradford's ninja skills are no longer applicable and he probably went crazy (also lost his connections and usefulness to Shredder in exchange for Dogpound's shapeless body, although the second mutation (Rahzar) is clearly a step up in terms of design). plus after the first season they were pushed into the background as much as possible, ceasing to deepen of them
