There's a reason that other supermarkets always have those "same price as Aldi" stickers all over the place.

TESCO'S ARE STILL OVERCHARGING HAVING SILLY PRICES THEN OFFER CLUBCARD PRICE WHICH IS PROBABLY WHAT IT SHOULD BE, HOW DO THEY GET AWAY WITH IT. EVERY LITTLE HELPS IS THEIR SAYING BUT IT IS NOT FOR THE CUSTOMER IT IS FOR THEIR PROFITS SILLY PRICES. THE PROBLEM IS THEN OTHER STORES CHECK PRICING THEN MATCH THEM

For anyone that still has a town with local butchers and greengrocers, I found that the food from the local sellers is way cheaper than going to the larger supermarkets. Many of us have got used to the one stop shop at the big stores, and have been lulled into thinking that they are cheaper. On some seasonal veg, I found my local greengrocer was less than half the price. The fresh produce is always much fresher as the supply chain is shorter, no cases of produce stuck in a central warehouse and distribution centres for two extra days.

Suddenly I feel lucky that they've just built an Aldi and M&S next door to each other near me. I go to M&S for some nice treats and the bulk of my shopping at Aldi

Tesco are evil. They have recently stopped overtime for their staff who depend on it to make up for the 16hr contracts that so many are stuck on. They employ a lot of staff on 3 month contracts too so that they can easily reduce staff numbers if the shareholder profits aren't quite massive enough that month. That also means that staff are never properly trained on things like food hygiene & have no reason to care about it anyway when they know that they're unlikely to get a permanent contract after their 3 months. Staff morale is at an all time low after years of cost cutting in every aspect of the business. It's safe to assume that the horse meat thing is just the tip of a food standards iceberg.

What a useful comprehensive study - "getting the drains up" on the greedy con merchants. Very well made video and quite surprising too.

I see ALL supermarkets as the enemy with which I take battle! But the takeovers of the hapless ASDA and Morrison's are the worst of all! Both are almost unrecognisable from what they once were! I now use Tesco, ALDI and Lidl as judiciously as possible with an eye to making most of my own meals. But I'm old and I realise lots of young people cannot actually cook and are therefore fair game for these supermarket robbers! Basic cooking should be once more in our childrens' education!

Shopped at Aldi for a few years now - the food is fantastic quality and the prices the same.
