  It&apos;s disgusting that when a white person dies, the photos and videos are scrubbed for &quot;privacy&quot; , but when a black person is killed, &nbsp;the footage is just left out for people to see. Like it&apos;s some sort of public spectacle. It&apos;s traumatizing, and i wish you the best.<br><br>Edit: changed some wording to get my point across better

  People today act like racism ended with MLK, when MLK’s story ended with murder. Not sickness, not old age, but murder in 1968. And to put that into time perspective, my mother was 16 when he was murdered, I’m 29. This shit never stopped, it changed shape and was normalized as it always has.

  It’s not that deep has become my least favorite phrase we’ve come up with. It is literally ALWAYS that deep. If you’re saying that it’s cause you don’t WANT it to be that deep.

  I feel lucky I haven’t seen anyone defending this. Everyone I’ve seen discussing this has been pretty unanimous, this is a depiction of lynching. As someone who has worked on ads before, this passed through way too many hands for no one to have caught what this looked like. It was on purpose. If they didn’t want it to look like that, they wouldn’t have lit it like that.

  When I first saw the ad I thought someone was LITERALLY hanging. No matter how white the review process was you cannot tell me they didn&apos;t see what this looked like.

  Genuinely some of the most haunting and diabolical acts of cruelty in American history have been inflicted on little black boys. One that breaks my heart is the youngest person to ever receive the death sentence—a black CHILD who was killed for a crime that modern evidence has cleared him of.

  The first time I saw the ad I immediately thought &quot;why does it look like someone hanging?&quot; The fact that this was approved by their marketing team is INSANE. At least one person knew exactly what they were doing.
